Just to explain the dearth of posts - I've been in the States at a conference all week, and unable to find time for proper updates.
I'm going to skip to the economic model in the next post - if you have any thoughts or links in advance, feel free to comment now! Particularly interesting is how to simulate a wider economy beyond a particular city - as John says in his interesting and innovative blog at The Metropolis Project, a certain level of realism requires that we don't think of our cities as a sealed unit.
While I have some concrete ideas for driving economics within a city, my thoughts on a wider economy and how to simulate it are embryonic and vague. So, feel free to let me know - otherwise I'll have to work it out on my 10hour flight back tomorrow!
